THE HASKELL WEXLER ARCHIVE PROJECT :: Currently In Development ::
The Haskell Wexler Archive project will make available to emerging filmmakers, artists, educators, and scholars a comprehensive archive of seen and unseen Haskell Wexler footage, so that it can facilitate the production of media dealing with social change, human rights, cultural awareness and political understanding.
With a full living archive available online in Creative Commons licensing, communities internationally will have the ability to remix, sample, and re-contextualize hundreds of hours of hi-resolution footage photographed by Wexler over the last forty years of his career as a film artist and social activist, and will examine how the two pursuits have intersected throughout his personal history.

PHANTOM CINEMAS :: Currently In Development ::
ICS is proud to announce a partnership with PHANTOM GALLERIES LA, founded by Liza Simone to create PHANTOM CINEMAS. The program will transform vacant storefronts and commercial real-estate into public movie theaters and new media galleries. Each “phantom cinema” will be a unique relationship between the participating Filmmaker, Curator, Property Owner and the Community that the cinema is in. Cinemas will be curated by ICS staff & volunteers, local arts organizations, independent curators, and Los Angeles-based filmmakers.

FUTURE CINEMA SERIES
The Future Cinema Series is an ongoing program of experimental films from artists all over the world, curated by ICS Creative Director David Wexler. The Series is a part of the BRAINFEEDER Label’s recurring Brainfeeder Sessions show hosted at the Downtown Independent Theater in Los Angeles.
